I can’t even tell you how many supplies I paid for myself. Mostly so there would be no excuse for work to not be done. One student, finally got him to put his name on a blank lined paper. That was the only thing he turned in the entire year literally. Of course he was still promoted. Sure he didn’t use many supplies but everybody else’s kid did. Decorated one classroom, moved, asked to leave stuff behind, asked to decorate next room. Other teacher claimed she spent a grand on old room. She actually got reimbursed, I got zip zilch zero for two rooms. Not giving away what essentially belongs to my own family anymore. Purpose served, life does go on.
