Things will happen in our world for this part of our career to improve. I’m sure we could make a foundation that’s dedicated to raising our incomes, and somehow make the society around us conform to it. We could do a walk across your (or any state’s) education department. When in doubt, we could probably even send a letter to our current nation’s president.
When I was growing up, I had a teacher (now I am one) who told me that if you are upset or stressed about a circumstance to “take a step back, breathe, and eat cake.”
I may not know you, but I think you’ll still be able to be an educator more than you may recognize.

GuestJanuary 9, 2023 at 3:54 pmPost count: 138My husband and I are both teachers in the same school, and COMBINED we cannot afford to buy a home where we teach. We can barely afford to rent anything that isn’t dilapidated. I’ve even written to our governor about it. How can TWO educators together not afford to live in the same community they serve? I hate it so much.
