I always built relationships with colleagues because we were all in the same foxhole, we only had each other. So we had to work together and build each other up.
I’m working at a school now where the teachers really struggle to build relationships with one another. I don’t think all staff need to be BFFs, but I do think we’re better at our work when we have people we can rely on and relate to.
So, what are some ways to build community with teaching staff that aren’t cheesy ice breakers or inauthentic team builders. I don’t want to make a ropes course happen or ask anyone to make a tower out of newspapers.
What do folks here think?
