2025-2026 Teacher Misery Planner Sneak Peek!

2025-2026 Teacher Misery Planner Sneak Peek!

By:

Here are some samples from the latest edition (2025-2026) of the beloved Teacher Misery Planner! Every teacher needs a planner for the coming school year. But most planners are kind of, you know, cheesy. I sought to create a practical, simple academic planner, filled with my particular brand of sarcasm and dark humor.

Size

The size of the planner is 8.5 x 11, which is a bit bigger than your average sheet of paper. The planner is a bound paperback book, and if you press on the seam inside, it will lie flat. If you must have coils, FedEx will turn it into a coil-bound book for under $5. The print on the inside is black and white.

Monthly Spread

Each monthly spread (August 2025 through July 2026) features an overview of the month, accompanied by a sarcastic quote, a small to-do list, and a space for notes.

Weekly Lesson Plans

The weekly spreads include space to write lesson plans for each subject (up to 7) for the entire week, pages for writing notes or complaints, and blank checklists. There are 5 of these after each month. There are also several checklists and notes pages after each month.

Logs and Important Info.

At the front of the planner, there are several pages for student/parent contact info, parent communication logs, IEP and medical information, and many grade book pages.

Fun Stuff!

After each month is a fun article, activity, or poster, such as the latest Faculty Meeting BINGO, a pros and cons list for quitting at the end of the year with ridiculous ideas for a new career (and some practical suggestions too), a teacher band name generator, and even Parent Contact BINGO.

This is not a planner for the perfect Pinterest teacher. This is for the jaded, burnt-out teachers who need a damn laugh wherever they can get it! This is a slightly NSFW version, which means you might have to black out a curse word or two. Or don’t! They shouldn’t be looking in your planner anyway! So get your copy here!

12-Month Version with Blank Calendars

If you prefer a version of the planner with blank months so you can start and stop whenever you want, see here!

Jane Morris

Jane Morris is the pen name of an ex-teacher who would really like to tell you more about herself but is worried awful administrators will come after her for spilling their dirty little secrets. Jane has taught English for over 15 years in a major American city. She received her B.A. in English and Secondary Education from a well-known university and her M.A. in Writing and Literature from an even fancier (and more expensive) university. As a professional queen of commiseration turned published author, Jane’s foremost passion in life is to make people laugh through the tears.

She has written several highly acclaimed books unpacking the reality of teaching and life inside the school system. You can view her full library of works here.
